13岁的时候，Emiliana Torrini为她爸爸的生日录制了一卷录音带。她的音乐天赋已经开始得到显现。现在的Torrini还很年轻，对于她来说，也许人生哲学就是在冒险中平衡自身的矛盾感。正如她在她的歌中，尝试去描述她的所有感觉。就好象她写的歌词往往很简单，通常只是日常生活中的一些小事物。但是不难发觉，Torrini的音乐实在要比bjork多了份乐观，从容。

Emiliana Torrini加入 Virgin 后发行了首张专辑。这张专辑在欧洲获得了巨大的成功。不少杂志，例如CMJ都对她的音乐津津乐道。对于一个新晋歌手，她的才能已得到大众肯定。

Torrini的风格比bjork更pop一些。这类更流行些的口味或许会更容易给年轻人接受。这张专辑得到Roland Orzabal的许多帮助。“To be free”“wednesday’s child”“baby blue”都是可听性较强的歌曲，“telepathy”甚至还看到了potishead的影子，“Unemployed in Summertime”中，Torrini嗓音的优雅一览无余。。对于一个乐人来说，音乐无疑就是个性最直接的释放。
