Professor Suli Zhu, dean of Peking University School of Law, will deliver the fifth annual Herbert L. Bernstein Lecture in International and Comparative Law on Nov. 2. His topic will be political parties and the judicial system in China.
Professor Bernstein, a specialist in contract, comparative and private international law, died suddenly in 2001 after teaching at Duke Law School for the previous 17 years. In recognition of his many contributions to the legal community and legal education, the Law School established the Herbert L. Bernstein Memorial Lecture to bring to Duke each year a distinguished comparative and international law scholar to give a public lecture to the Law School community. |
